Kusadasi - Izmir

We got to sleep in, and after breakfast went and lay on the beach for an hour and a half. Then we headed off for Izmir.

We stopped at Ephesus on the way and that is the most amazing site to see. The Roman city is in mint condition, and almost all of the city is still standing. It was totally incredible.

Us on the loo, it was apparently better to sit at the sea side as the smells wafted over and this is why the seats closest to the seaside are more worn out than the marble one's we're sitting on.

Hakan and his lady

Then we headed off to a leather factory after lunch. It was good to shop there as they did not hassle you.  We learnt that lambs leather is the best quality to buy as other leathers smell if they get wet. Then we headed off for the hotel.

It was then time to say goodbye to Hakan. He took us to a pub and we had a good laugh with him. It was good to sit and laugh and it felt like we had been friends for ages. He was then going home to Cannakale to his family. We then had a horse ride back to the hotel.
